We were lucky with yet another cold, but Sunny day at the new venue of the Mill beach Pub, just along the sea
wall from Heybrdge Basin

New venue offers a lot more space, we had 30 vehicles this year parked in the field with views over the Blackwater Estuary.

Few different bits of kit including the Russian KPA 3 and
a 432 Armoured Personel Carrier, we didn't have as many vehicles this year primarily due to the weather. After the snow,
rain, ice and more rain right up to saturday night, nobody believed it would be a clear sunny day on the sunday!

Very good public turn out, after the vehicles left a lot of
people stayed around just to enjoy a walk down the sea wall or enjoy the activities in the pub. Nice to see John Whittingdale,
Chairman of Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee showing an interest as ever in local events. Also Thank you to my oldest
son Anthony Morgan for taking the photos (again!), as per usual I was doing other things!!

Thanks to the everybody from the Essex MVT, ECMVG, EAFVG, IMPS and private vehicle owners who braved the cold weather,
please give us some feedback as to what you thought of the new venue and events. For next year we will probably make the start
time later, have music outside along with a field Kitchen for fast hot food and tea/coffee. Obviously the visitor turn out
was high which succeeded in drinking the pub out of a few beers and had the kitchen running flat out! The pub did
lay on some great food and besides dressing the pub in wartime decor, they organised the live music, Cockney singalong
and comedian on the stage built up as an underground station, so a big thanks to Liz, John and all the staff.
Another big thank you goes to A2 Jive who not only looked the part, but danced the afternoon away showing the visitors a few
1940's moves as well, follow the A2 Jive link for more details on them.
